On
Thursday, October 23rd, students from Memorial High School visited Cumberland
County College for a Career Exploration Workshop that was sponsored by the
Cumberland / Salem Workforce Investment Board. Participating students got
the chance to increase their knowledge of career readiness and employability
skills by speaking with local professionals. Many different industries
were represented including, but not limited to the fields of science,
technology, engineering, and math. Students got to speak personally with
representatives that discussed prospective careers and job growth. Mary
Bacon chaperoned the group and reported it was a fantastic experience!

Another Successful College Admissions Night
We have received a lot of positive feedback from those who
attended our Annual College Admissions Night on October 8, 2014. Approximately, 150 people attended the
event! The coordinators, Ms. Giercyk,
Ms. Jackson, and Mrs. LaFerriere put together a great program and included
student speakers who discussed their experiences while visiting colleges. A special thanks to Ms. Bacon, Ms. Davis, and
Mr. McAfee for also contributing to the very informational presentations. If you were not able to attend the event, but
would like a copy of the presentation, please see your guidance counselor.
