NCAA Eligibility Workshop is Popular Amongst Millville Student-Athletes

The Millville High School Counseling Department hosted an NCAA Eligibility Workshop on Thursday, August 7th. The counselors, along with the Millville Athletic Director, David LaGamba, spoke to athletes and their parents about the academic requirements to graduate from Millville High Scholl as an NCAA eligible athlete.  After the presentation, students were given a copy of their transcript and courses for the upcoming school year so that they could complete an activity that checked their individual progress toward eligibility. All of this was done under the care and assistance of the Millville Counselors, Mrs. Russo, Mrs. Giercyk, Ms. Davis, Ms. Jackson, and Mrs. LaFerriere.

Students Learn About High School Expectations at Freshman Boot Camp

The Millville Memorial High School Counselors, Mrs. Bacon, Mrs. LaFerriere, and Mr. Dawkins, held their annual Freshmen Boot Camp on Wednesday, August 6th. All new rising freshmen were invited to this fun and informative event and the turnout was excellent.  Counselors presented topics of interest to the students such as goal setting, organization, and grades. They also answered questions about the upcoming school year and what to expect about life in high school.  Students participated in many fun activities like a get to know each other ice breaker, grade calculation contest, and notebook binder building contest. Students left with a folder of important information and a few prizes if they were lucky.
