Attention all College Bound Students: Sign-Up to Take the PSAT

The PSAT is being offered at Millville High School on Saturday, October 14^th. The fee to take the test is $20 and students need to sign up in the Guidance Office by Tuesday, October 10^th in order to take the test.  The PSAT is a very important test for students who plan to go directly to a four year college after graduation because it is the official practice test for the SAT and is given only once a year each October.  Interested students should bring in the money, cash only, to Guidance and register before the deadline of October 10^th.  If you have questions, please call 327-6056 at MSHS and 327-6083 at Memorial.

Upcoming Event: College Admissions / Financial Aid Night

The Millville High School Guidance Department is hosting their annual College Admissions/Financial Aid  Night on Wednesday, September 27^th at 6:30 in the Memorial High School Auditorium on Broad Street.  Counselors will be there to discuss the various steps of the College Admission Process.  We also want to remind parents of seniors that the FAFSA form for Financial aid is now available at the beginning of October.  It is important for families to attend so that they can gain a better understanding of the College Admissions procedure and hear about the changes in the FAFSA and the  financial aid process. As an extra reminder, the College Admissions Night is being held at Memorial High School on Broad Street due to the construction at MSHS. If you have any questions, please call 327-6056.

Reminder: Advanced & AP Summer Work

REMINDER:  If your child has signed up for one of our advanced or AP classes that has a summer assignment. Summer work for advanced and AP classes is due next week when students return to school.  Assignments are listed on the Millville Public Schools web site at www.millville.org and can be found under the tab for "students".  Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing students next week.

Upcoming Event: Freshman Boot Camp

On Tuesday, August 22th, 2017, we will be hosting Freshman Boot Camp at Memorial High School.  During this time incoming Freshman will get advice on organizational skills, goal setting, and learn more about what to expect as they transition into high school.  The program will last approximately 1 hour, is completely optional and there is no obligation to attend.  If you are interested in attending, please call 327-6083 for an appointment time.

Freshman Boot Camp

The Millville High School Guidance Department is hosting their annual Freshmen Boot camp at Memorial High School on Wednesday, August, 10^th.  Students will have the opportunity to meet the Guidance Staff as well as learn about such things as how grades are calculated at the high school level, credit structures, required classes, goal setting, and much more.  Please call 327-6083 to register.

College Jump Start Program

The Millville High School Guidance Department is hosting their annual College Jump Start Program at Millville Senior High School  on Tuesday morning, August, 2^nd at 10:00 am.  The Jump Start workshop is designed to assist our seniors in planning for life after high school and we will explore various options such as four year colleges, two year colleges, and technical/trade schools. Seniors are invited to come in and begin working on applications, essays, research, scholarships, and letters of recommendation.  Guidance counselors will be available to help students and answer questions. This will be an interactive workshop and students will leave focused and ready to start the leg work for future plans. Please call 327 – 6056 to register.  

Outstanding Counselor Award

This morning, Cumberland County College hosted their Annual High School Counselors’ Breakfast.  This informational event updates counselors county-wide to the exciting new opportunities and changes happening on CCC’s campus.  Today, the program was concluded by recognizing a school counselor for their outstanding service to students in their transition to Cumberland County College.  This year, the counselor recognized was our own David Vorndran for his dedication and service to our students in Millville!  Congratulations Mr. Vorndran!!!
