MHS Students Stand Up Against Bullying

The following poem was submitted to our contest by a senior football player.  He'll be leaving after this semester to attend Penn State on a football scholarship.  Congratulations and thank you for your submission!

like a bow and arrow you get pulled back and fight through all the resistance, but it's only a matter of time before your shot forward and success is no longer distant every single person has the chance to make a difference, and every boy and girl has its purpose for their existence. But to be yourself is what our generation is constantly missing, we idolize those living a life of fiction, an era of unfair judgment, on stuff like what kids wear to school based off their parent’s budget. Some people call them weird or  not cool bc they are nervous. You can't base that decision off someone that's just observant. Observant to young minds with grown people intentions, truthfully every kid just wants to feel they can fit in. it's different from the old days when bullies used to take your lunch money.  Now they take self-esteem and laugh because at that moment  it was kinda funny. Now a days bullies sit back behind a computer screen crushing your hopes because they're afraid to dream. So the next time you wanna bully think twice. Maybe 3 or 4 times you could be saving a life
