Teachers and Students Get Involved with Respect and Wellness Weeks

Respect Week, October 7-11, 2013, is quickly approaching and students at Memorial and the Sr. High Schools are creating their best work by getting involved.  The two girls pictured are Digital Design I (Desktop Publishing) students in Mrs. Daigle’s class at Memorial High School. These novice level designers used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create the winning Anti-Bullying poster for their "client", Mrs. Warner, our School Assistance Coordinator who helps organize some of the school-wide activities that take place during Respect Week.  Mrs. Daigle’s students received the "client proposal" from Mrs. Warner and were required to create a professional design proposal. Mrs. Warner reviewed all of the designs and proposals and chose the one she felt best met her specifications for the project.

This year’s Wellness Week button was designed by a Senior High School student, as pictured below.

Buttons will be distributed by homeroom teachers on Monday, October 21st, and students are encouraged them to wear every day during Wellness Week. The button symbolizes DRUG FREE and VIOLENCE AWARENESS.

We would like to extend a special thank you to all who get involved with these great school-wide activities and for your continuing support in creating and sustaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning.

Check back to review the fun activities that will be offered during the week of October 21-25, 2013.
