Standing Room Only: New Student Orientation a Huge Success

The hallways were buzzing with activity Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Senior High and Memorial High Schools as they hosted their first New Student Orientation programs. At the Senior High, more than 25 upperclassmen helped guide new students through the building. Memorial’s Passport to Memorial program offered a creative way for more than 275 students and their parents to visit different areas of the building while collecting stamps for a prize. Both programs were extremely well received by all participants. Starting “fresh” in a new school isn’t always easy. One of the goals of these programs is to help new students gain confidence as they experience the transition to a new school. Based on the enthusiasm expressed by all who attended the program, we should all expect a very positive start to the new school year!
